Let's talk a little about Girl's Weekend 2009

Girl's weekend was the last weekend in April and we went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas (also known as Little Switzerland). As always, we do a lot of shopping (mostly at candy stores and fudge factories), hanging out one night at the bar, and take in all the sights. It is a shame that we only go for 3 days.

Eureka has beautiful landscapes, vintage buildings, and victorian style homes that I could never get tired of. There are themed weekends that range from UFO weekend to Gay and Lesbian Pride Weekend to Biker Weekend. We have managed to go on Biker Weekend the last couple of years, but in the past, we were visiting during cross-dresser weekend, and Gay and Lesbian pride weekend. Many people from many walks of life visit this area. It is so diverse and neat.

There is even a paranormal side of Eureka. It is believed that the Cresent Moon Hotel in town is haunted. The hotel used to be the psychiatric hospital and there are stories of apparitions appearing to guests and such. In the basement of the hotel is a day spa which used to occupy the hospital's morgue. Oooooo.... Ahhhhh.... scary!

This year there were eight of us that went: Nicki Chitwood, Stephanie Seuferling, Jana Schofield, Ann Sheafer, Mary McAfoos, Connie Koken, Amy Jones, and Kelly Sims. The weekend was short and sweet! Can't wait for next year!
