What we've been up to....

Amanda has outgrown her play kitchen and wanted to move it to Grandma Kathy's basement to play with once in a while.  What she is loving right now is playing house with her Polly Pockets.  In fact, she has been improvising and using the cabinets on the play kitchen as bedrooms and such, so I decided it was time to find a doll house with real bedrooms.  I stumbled upon a gem on craiglist for $20 and we decided to make it our little Mom/Daughter project.  So, this is what we've been up to lately.....

Amanda is thrilled to have a real wooden doll house -- but blue and white are not the colors she wants.  She wants a brown house, so we must paint it!

All that is left to do is glue the roof back on, attach the decorative piece on the upper gable, and finish the bottom plank that the house sits on; then we're done!  Amanda had a great time painting the house and has decided that she wants a whole village now, with lots of (expensive) furniture.  YIKES!
